How to Play: When the game loads, you’ll start on the welcome screen. Here, you’ll find several options: the full-screen mode button in the upper left corner, the instructions button for gameplay guidance, and music toggle buttons on the left side of the large green play icon. To the right, choose from four different Mahjong tile designs to customize your game experience. Click or tap on the big play icon to proceed to the level selection screen, where you’ll find 27 levels to enjoy.

Game Controls: On desktop, use your mouse to select and match tiles. On touchscreen devices, simply tap with your fingers to make matches.

Gameplay: In Mahjong Royal, your goal is to match pairs of identical tiles to clear the board, or to locate all special tiles within each level. The challenge is that you can only match tiles that are free on at least one side—either the left or the right—so plan your moves carefully to avoid getting stuck. For added difficulty, some tiles are reversed, only revealing their true design once selected. Unique tiles like flower and season tiles can be matched even if their designs are different, adding a layer of strategy to your game. Be wary of rock tiles, as these serve as unplayable obstacles that cannot be matched or moved. If you find yourself stuck with trapped tiles, use the scissors to free them and unlock new moves. As you progress, aim to match tiles quickly to earn medals and unlock even more challenging levels. Strategic planning is key—free up the top layers of tiles to open up more matching possibilities and ensure you don’t block yourself from further moves. The game tests both your matching skills and your ability to think ahead, so stay alert and consider each tile placement carefully.
