Description:
Play one or two player Checkers game for free at games4.com. Each player starts with 12 pieces placed on the three rows closest to them. The objective is to capture all of your opponent's pieces or block them so they cannot make a move. Players take turns moving their pieces diagonally forward one square at a time. When a piece reaches the opponent's back row, it is "kinged" and gains the ability to move both forward and backward. Pieces can capture an opponent's piece by jumping over it to an empty square, and multiple jumps are allowed in a single turn. The game continues until one player captures all the opponent's pieces or blocks them from making any legal moves.
Instructions:
Your Turn: On your turn, you'll see your pieces highlighted or a prompt telling you it's your turn.
Move: Click on a piece to select it. Valid move locations will usually be highlighted. Click on the square where you want to move your piece.
Jump: If you can capture an opponent's piece, click your piece and then click the square over the opponent's piece to jump it. Multiple jumps might be automatically highlighted.
King: Reaching the opponent's back row will automatically "king" your piece, usually indicated by a crown icon or a double-stacked piece.
Opponent's Turn: During this phase, you'll see the opponent's moves animated on the board. Plan your next moves while waiting.
Winning: The game ends when one player captures all the opponent's pieces or blocks them from making any legal moves. A "You Win" or "You Lose" message will usually appear.
